MMA star Jorge Masviadal is gearing up for a new fight — against socialism.
UFC’s “BMF” (Baddest Mother F—r) champ will ping pong across The Sunshine State this weekend with President Trump’s son before closing out the day in South Florida’s American Top Team gym.
ESPN’s Ariel Helwani set the fight community abuzz with the news Tuesday.
“Jorge Masvidal will join Donald Trump Jr. on a day-long ‘Fighters Against Socialism’ bus tour across Florida this Saturday,” the “Ariel & The Bad Guy” co-host tweeted. “They will hold 3 rallies in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami. Their final rally will be at the American Top Team gym where they expect numerous fighters to join.”
Mr. Masviadal recently attended a “Latinos For Trump” event at Trump National Golf Club in Doral and he has spoken out against the “woke mob” over cancel culture.
“Don’t listen to the #woke mob #Goya beans are the best beans with some white rice,” he said in July during calls for a boycott of the popular company. “I’m a Latino son of immigrants that was blessed enough to eat #goyafoods in good times and in the bad times #supernecessary.”
Left-wing activists at the time were upset that Robert Unanue, chief executive of the family-run company, complimented the president’s pro-business policies.
“We’re all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder,” Mr. Unanue said after a House roundtable with Hispanic business and political leaders.
Mr. Trump’s support with UFC also includes its president, Dana White.
“When we first bought this company, venues didn’t want us,” Mr. White said in November 2019. “Everything that ever happened to me in my career, Trump was the first guy to pick up the phone and reach out to me. From getting back on pay-per-view, getting our first TV deal when we did the big FOX deal, the guy always reached out to me.”
