NBA superstar Steph Curry has won the NBA MVP for two consecutive seasons. But many fans don’t know what he attributes his success to. There’s something about Steph Curry that makes him more than just a professional basketball player.

CURRY: “There’s more to me than just this jersey I wear, and that’s Christ living inside of me.”

Curry takes the Bible verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” to heart, and has put it on his signature sneakers.

CURRY: There’s so many things that we have to overcome in this life and Jesus and His work on the cross — He’s paid the ultimate price for us, so I’m proud to be a child of God.

Curry continues to work to add to his team’s championship total, but there’s always something else on his mind.

CURRY: “I know that in the grand scheme of things, this is just a game that can be taken from me at any moment. But I love that basketball gives me the opportunities to do good things for people and to point them towards the man who died for our sins on the cross. I know I have a place in heaven waiting for me because of Him, and that’s something no earthly prize or trophy could ever top.

“When I step on the floor, people should know who I represent and who I believe in. When you’ve been blessed with talents to play sports at a high level, each time it’s in His name that we go out there and perform and compete and use the gifts He’s given us in the right way.”
