Manila, Philippines – The streets of Metro Manila, a megacity with a population of about 12 million people, was eerily quiet and empty hours after the government sealed off city borders in a bid to contain the spread of the disease COVID-19 caused by the new coronavirus.
The health ministry on Sunday confirmed 28 new coronavirus cases bringing the country’s total to 140. A 13-year-old girl is reported to be the youngest person infected. There have been 11 deaths.
